Deep Tissue Massage

A deep tissue massage is a therapeutic massage that uses deep pressure and slow, firm strokes to target the deeper layers of muscles, tendons, and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles and organs). A deep tissue massage alleviates chronic muscle tension, and pain, improves range of motion, and promotes relaxation.

During a deep tissue massage, the therapist may use their hands, forearms, elbows, and feet to apply pressure to the targeted areas. The pressure is applied slowly and deeply to break up knots or adhesions in the muscles and tissues. It can sometimes be uncomfortable, but it should never be painful.

Recommended for individuals who experience chronic pain or tension, have a limited range of motion due to muscle stiffness, or have experienced injuries or trauma to the muscles. However, deep tissue massage may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who are pregnant, have certain medical conditions, or are sensitive to pressure. It's always a good idea to consult a qualified massage therapist before scheduling a deep tissue massage.
